| The relationship between Kan B'alam I and his predecessors appears to be fairly clear. The main question concerns Kan B'alam I's relationship with his successors. His immediate successor, Ix Yol Ik'nal, has traditionally been viewed as his daughter, but she could be the daughter of Kan B'alam I's older brother, Akul Mo' Nab' II. Another possibility is that she was the sister of Akul Mo' Nab' II and Kan B'alam I. |
